Bhubaneswar, April 4: The Odisha government on Saturday told all the government and private hospitals to report all cases of flue and respiratory diseases to the government.

The government also said that strict action will be taken against those who defy the order and do not report to the government on the issue.

A statement from the government said, “In view of sharp increase in number of COVID-19 positive cases it has become imperative to strengthen passive surveillance of both the
government and private health care facilities. It is necessary for containment of COVID-19 in the community,”

It also added, “So, all the CDM & PHOs and proprietors of the Private health Care facilities have been urged to report all the cases of SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Infection) and ILI (Influenza like Illness) to the District IDSP Cell or State IDSP in the prescribed format,”

Talking about the legal actions the government said, “Any violation shall be viewed seriously including sealing of the facilities and cancellation of licence under the Clinical Establishment Act. The Office bearers of Private Clinical Establishment Association have also been urged to bring it to the notice of all concerned.”

We are a bunch of like-minded people from the media who came forward to build a niche where important news affecting the people at large could be covered independently. This website has been envisioned to be a one stop centre for stories on different facets of the society which should ideally get space in the media but due to several reasons the mainstream media do not give them ample space. This website is trying to build that void. We are trying to report from the important developments from the eastern India with special focus on Odisha, West Bengal and the North East. This website was founded by some senior, mid and new budding journalists to cater to the needs of consumers of digital media which is unbiased, non dependent on government ads for survival and dare to report on the issues which should get ample space in the media and spark debate and discussions in the society. We have our representatives in New Delhi, Odisha, West Bengal, Chattisgarh and North East to cater to the needs of people from their region which are otherwise shunned by the national media. We have our head office at Bhubaneswar in Odisha
