Bhubaneswar, Jan 8, TBN: The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has reported that six cities in Odisha recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) exceeding 300 at 4 pm on January 7, categorizing the air quality as very poor.
Notably, Balasore’s AQI surpassed that of the National Capital, Delhi, marking a more concerning air pollution level. Balasore led the list with an AQI of 334, followed by Cuttack at 320, Baripada at 316, Bhubaneswar at 311, Keonjhar at 314, and Rairangpur at 308 yesterday afternoon.
The state of air pollution in Odisha has worsened due to various factors, including heavy vehicular traffic and ongoing construction activities in several areas.
