Bhadrak, Feb 8: The Odisha State Transport Authority (STA) which got to know about the news of a minor bike rider from Bhadrak who was roaming around the city streets fearlessly by breaking traffic laws has now issued red alert warning against all such erring minor bikers and their owners.
In a stringent adherence to the newly passed Motor Vehicle Amendment Act, the state transport authority in the region has issued a challan of Rs 25,000 against the adult owner of the bike who allowed the minor to use his vehicle. The officials have also barred the minor rider against applying and getting a Driving Licence (DL) before he attains 25 years.
The minor is said to be a resident of Nuapokhari village of Bhandaripokhari block in Bhadrak district. The owner named Narayan Behera of Nuapokhari has now been served the challan.
The State Transport Authority on Saturday put the Tweeter user starling with the tweet where a minor was legally penalized for his wrong doings. The Authority on Tweeter wrote, “The vehicle owner/parent of minor boy driving vehicle have to pay penalty of 25 thousand, the boy won’t get DL till he is 25 years.”
