Bhubaneswar, April 26: The state government on Sunday said that the total COVID 19 cases in the state reached 103 as it registered nine new cases in the last 24 hours.

The new cases came to the fore as three vulnerable districts remained under shutdown and the testing was magnified by the government. The government claimed that it has detected three cases from Sundergarh and six cases from Jajpur.

The State Health Department said, “Three new positive cases were found in Sundargarh (Rourkela). The patients included-a 23-year-old male, a-60-year-old male and a 57-year-old female. Two are confirmed close contacts of earlier positive case. One is a suspected contact. Contact tracing and follow up action is being done,”

It also added that the six new cases of COVID 19 detected from Jajpur district had links to West Bengal. “ Six new positive cases were reported in Jajpur. These included-52-year-old-male, 23-year-old male, 49-year-male, 57-year-old male, 39-year-old makle and 50-year-old male,”

It also added, “All of them had returned from West Bengal. Contact tracing and follow up action is being done.”
